City of Huber Heights Parks
The City of Huber Heights and the YMCA of Greater Dayton-Huber Heights jointly operate 13 city parks. Many of the parks offer playgrounds, shelters, ballfields, basketball and tennis courts, picnic areas and trails. Various youth sports organizations use the parks fields for baseball, softball, football and soccer league play. The YMCA also offers various recreational programs in the parks. Carriage Hill MetroPark
East Shull Road. Operated by Five Rivers MetroParks, history lives year-round at the Carriage Hill MetroPark and Farm. Discover 900 acres rich in cultural and natural history. Stop at the visitor center for exhibits highlighting lifestyles of a century ago, a children’s interactive center and the Country Gift Store. Tour the 1880’ s historical farm, scenic woodlands, meadows, lake and pond. Spend the day hiking, fishing, picnicking and horseback riding. Taylorsville MetroPark
US 70 at Taylorsville Dam. Operated by Five Rivers MetroParks, Taylorsville MetroPark offers 1,300 acres of spectacular wooded ravines, massive rock outcroppings, and the Great Miami River. Discover portions of the Miami Erie Canal and the remains of an 1800’s village. Fish the Great Miami, or hike a variety of trails. SENIOR CENTER

The Huber Heights Senior Center (HHSC) offers a wide variety of services and programs to area seniors. A Board of Officers and Trustees who are elected annually by its members directs the operations of the HHSC. The Senior Center is staffed by volunteer members who work the front desk and is open Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (excluding holidays). Current regularly scheduled programs offered at the Senior Center include Tai Chi, bridge and cards, bingo, line dancing, Mah Jongg, ceramics, one day and extended trips, computer classes, woodcarving, book group, and exercise classes sponsored by Sinclair College for Seniors. The HHSC will also be offering a senior water aerobics class to be held at the Municipal Pool during the summer.
Other services or programs offered include Tax Aide, Legal Aide, Veterans Services, Retired Senior Volunteers Program, Golden Buckeye Cards, blood pressure screenings, blood sugar screenings, support groups, and miscellaneous speakers or presentations on senior citizen related issues. Also available at the Center is the Congregate Meal Program. The HHSC site serves lunch on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Reservations need to be made by calling by 12:30 p.m. the day before the scheduled meal. Cost for the meal is a suggested $2
